director infection prevention and control program

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, seeks an experienced professional to lead the Infection Prevention and Control Program throughout all Mayo Clinic Rochester facilities and services. You will lead a team of 10-12 experienced infection control preventionists. Responsibilities will include setting standards and evaluating compliance with practices associated with the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections and maintaining an infection prevention and control program that is consistent with the CDC recommendations, Joint Commission Standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Minnesota Department of Health regulations and current published literature in the field of hospital epidemiology. We will also rely on you to provide consultative services to all departments, both clinical and non-clinical.

Minimum Qualifactions:
Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate nursing program, Master of Science in Epidemiology and/or Public Health, or a Master of Science in Nursing. Certification or eligibility for the Certification in Infection Control (CIC) and current RN license to practice in Minnesota or eligibility to obtain this licensure prior to employment are required. You must also have at least five years of experience in a hospital infection control program or public health program with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge in fields related to infection control such as microbiology, patient care practices, clinical infectious diseases, medical statistics, epidemiology and adult education principles is essential.

Desired Qualifications:
Information technology experience as applied to infection control, the ability to use online services for research and knowledge of performance- improvement practices are requisite. You must also possess demonstrated excellent written and oral presentation skills, including expertise in writing policies and procedures, experience designing, implementing and leading full-continuum, multi-hospital and clinic Infection Prevention and Control Programs.
