Position: Infection Control Coordinator
FTE: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 2:30pm, 64 hours per pay period

Requirements: This position in our Quality Improvement Resources Department exists to provide management, oversight, and implementation of the infection control program at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Primary responsibilites include:
· Plans, organizes and implements surveillance activities, assists and guides health care staff regarding proper isolation procedures.
· Evaluates hospital acquired infections to identify root cause of infections and action plans for preventable risk factors.
· Using continuous quality improvement methodology and epidemiological principles, acts as a facilitator/expert for teams working to reduce the infection risks.
· Consults on infection control issues, plans and provides education for staff and volunteers.
· Works collaboratively with the Infection Control Committee Chair facilitating and coordinating the Infection Control Committee meetings.
· Assures infection control activities comply with guidelines and/or regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing; current licensure as a RN in the State of Minnesota; certified in infection control (CIC) or three years experience in infection control and plan to obtain certification; data analysis, conflict resolution, CQI methodology, policy and procedure development, program analysis and development skills required. Must have excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred: Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) membership; university or CDC course work in infection control and/or epidemiology.

Position: Coordinator-International Epidemiology
Location: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is located in picturesque Memphis, Tennessee. FTE: 1.0 (40 hours/week, Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, management and evaluation of assigned infection control/infectious disease projects at international sites, specifically at St. Jude partner institutions that work with the Infectious Disease-International Outreach Program. The Coordinator provides initial site evaluations. The Coordinator plans, implements and evaluates short and long term outcomes and manages epidemiological research data while evaluating baseline situations and outcomes of implemented initiatives. The Coordinator supervises the implementation of research protocols at St. Jude and international sites. Tthe Coordinator also develops health professional education materials and protocol-specific tools, with particular focus on outcome evaluation, including project costs.
Desired Qualifications:
- RN license, and Master in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field are required.
- PhD is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years healthcare experience that includes 2 years in epidemiology and/or infection control.
- Current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
- Current state Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in database design and implementation is preferred.
