Virginia (Ginnie) Bren, MPH, RN, CIC is a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Fargo, ND, Moorhead State University, and the University of MN School of Public Health. Mrs. Bren has practiced nursing in the areas of critical care, renal dialysis, migrant health, home health, higher education, and infection control. She has been an infection control coordinator at Altru Health System since 1995. She is a member of MN and ND Chapters of the Association of Practitioners in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and is on the APIC National Practice Guidance Team and has served on the MN APIC Conference Committee. She has been certified in infection control since 1997. She has presented or co-presented numerous posters at national and state APIC conferences. She and her husband Steve live in East Grand Forks with their 2 teenage children, Kelli and Austin. Ginnie’s favorite activities are family activities, teaching piano and Sunday School, studying French, reading, needlework, flower gardening, camping, biking, and hiking in the mountains.
